Application Procedure
Grant Writing Stipend
Applications for the BAGSS Grant Writing Stipend for Postdoctoral Researchers (period April 2025 – March 2026/ September 2026) are accepted from 1. September 2024 until 1. November 2024.
In order to be considered for a BAGSS Grant Writing Stipend for Postdoctoral Researchers, your application must include the following documents:
- A cover letter that demonstrates your qualifications in your subject area and the funding institution(s) that you plan to approach. Please also indicate which BAGSS Pillar(s) suit(s) your research interest best.
- Your complete CV including full contact information.
- Your project outline of the planned project on at most 10 pages including bibliography (font Arial, size 11, 1.5 line spacing).
- Scans of the following transcripts and certificates. a) All university transcripts, for the bachelor's, master's, doctoral degree or any other degrees, stating all individual grades. b) All university diploma or degree certificates indicating the final grade, including an explanation of the grading system (i.e. maximum attainable grade, minimum grade to pass, etc.). If your transcripts or certificates have been issued in languages other than English or German, certified translations need to be provided.
- A signed supporting statement of one BAGSS faculty member stating the willingness to act as your local mentor (max. 1 page, with official letterhead). When contacting the professor please use the subject line "BAGSS Postdoc Stipend: Mentorship".
- A Privacy Policy Agreement must be signed. Download the document here(318.0 KB, 8 pages).
- Please name two referees whom BAGSS could contact for a reference regarding your academic performance. You are required to ask the possible referees for their agreement before naming them and submitting their contact details (mail address and phone number)
All application materials must be submitted in English (except for certificates and transcripts, which may also be provided in German).
All documents need to be submitted as a single PDF (max. 30 MB).
In this single PDF, you must arrange your documents in the following order:
1. Cover Letter
2. Curriculum Vitae
3. Project Outline
4. Academic degree certificates and university grade transcripts
5. Supporting statement of one BAGSS faculty member
6. Privacy Policy Agreement
7. Referees
