Contents: The course teaches practical skills for managing and working on international IT projects. All phases of the project life cycle are covered: from initial analysis, planning and implementation through to monitoring and successful completion. Both traditional models such as the waterfall and V-model and agile methods such as Scrum are taken into account. Special attention is paid to the challenges of international teams and remote projects.

Learning objectives/skills: After completing the course, students should be able to 

  • Initiate, plan, manage and monitor IT projects in small and large organisations.
  • Adapt traditional and agile project management methods to new and previously unknown problems.
  • Manage international teams and geographically dispersed projects effectively.
  • Critically analyse the strengths and limitations of the various approaches, implement them and develop them further.

Exam: written exam (90min)
