Selina Englmeier

From 2016 to 2022, Selina Englmeier earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Sensors and Cognitive Psychology at the Technical University of Chemnitz. During her studies, she focused on human-technology interaction and the physical and physiological sensory signal processing. She gained practical experience at Siemens Healthineers in the Innovation Think Tank, where she worked on innovative projects in medical technology, and as a research assistant at the Chair of Experimental Sensor Technology. Her master’s thesis, in cooperation with Brose Bamberg, focused on the interaction between users and highly autonomous systems in a VR environment. From 2023 to 2024, she worked as a Scrum Master at DATEV eG in Nuremberg, where she applied agile methods to optimize development processes, enabling teams to independently implement projects. She also questioned and initiated cross-departmental optimization processes. 

Selina Englmeier’s research interests include Cognitive Science, to study cognitive processes during the use of AI. Additionally, psychological aspects to explore the interactions between AI and human behavior and analyze the resulting impacts on individuals and society. Another area includes ethical guidelines to ensure that AI systems are used fairly, transparently, and responsibly. Furthermore, she is involved in HMI collaboration (Human-Machine Interaction) to optimize the collaboration between humans and machines and to improve the usability and efficiency of AI systems.
