Conference
?META-LING 2023 - Methodological Exploration and Technological Advances in Linguistics“
10.11.2023 at the University of Bamberg
Carolin Cholotta & Christine Renker, Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg
BAGL - Bamberg Graduate School of Linguistics.
The conference is dedicated to methodological issues and technological advances in linguistics. The focus is on current topics and innovative methods, which will be presented by young researchers.
Empirical research methods play a central role in linguistic research and young researchers have numerous possibilities to gain new insights. Modern software tools, experimental technologies, and mixed-methods approaches broaden the choice. In order to find a suitable method for one's own research question, an interdisciplinary exchange about new and innovative technologies is helpful. Furthermore, questions about the validity and accessibility of survey instruments and the robustness of analysis procedures need to be addressed.
This Young Researchers’ Conference is specifically aimed at students, PhD students and other young scientists and provides them with a platform to present and discuss novel approaches and to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among young scientists. META-LING aims to foster interdisciplinary discussions and to present contributions from linguistics as well as related fields such as computational linguistics, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, and language technology.
