Professor Dr. Steffen Schindler is particularly interested in supervising doctoral students in the fields of social inequalities in education and their social mechanisms, labour market returns to education or the impact of education on social mobility.

His research interests comprise the mechanisms that account for social inequalities in educational attainment, the impact of institutional structures on educational inequalities, and the linkage between education and labour market returns.
