ALUMNI PROGRAMME
? The Alumni Programme offered by the Graduate School is designed to function like a network. Both our current students and our graduates benefit from regular exchanges and communication.
Though the official time as a doctoral student may have ended for an Alumna/Alumnus, opportunities to enrich a graduate's experience with life-long learning and career connections are numerous. The mission of the Alumni programme is to build the Graduate School's community, to nurture lifelong relationships and to aid graduates to further their professional and personal networks. The Alumni enjoy networking events, learning opportunities and career building tools. They can stay up to date by signing up for the Mailing List down below.
But also our current fellows gain from the Alumni Programme. Regular close interaction with our Alumni helps to utilise the experiences of our graduates for the benefit of our doctoral students. Furthermore, it improves connections with potential future employers and creates feedback loops between graduates and current doctoral fellows for career-planning purposes. ?

BAGSS ALUMNI EVENT
The Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences was delighted to host another Alumni Event on May 12, 2023.
The BAGSS alumni Dr Gundula Zoch, Dr Diana Schacht, Dr Johanna Sophie Quis and Dr Jean-Paul Safunu Banchani gave valuable insights into their time at the Graduate School and first-hand accounts of their experiences during the doctoral phase at the Graduate School.
The event ended with a get-together with good food and conversation. The occasion gave former and current members the perfect opportunity to network, share experiences and make connections for the future.
We look forward to the next alumni event.

ALUMNI KICK-OFF
? The Bamberg School of Social Sciences was elated to welcome back two of its former students. Ai Miyamoto and Tobias Rausch presented possible career paths after graduation to our current doctoral fellows.
Ai Miyamoto gave insights into her work in academia and in particular at GESIS - Leibniz-Institut für Sozialwissenschaften. Next to the project she is working on, she also talked about the application process and her motivation for staying in academia. In contrast, Tobias Rausch presented working opportunities outside academia or rather outside research, while talking about his work at the DLR Projekttr?ger.
Both of them shared personal experiences they made since their graduation and offered retrospects into their life as a student. Additionally, they provided inside information and spread light onto several topics. For example, how career decisions should be made at an early stage in the dissertation process. Their point of view aids our current doctoral fellows to set the focus in their respective research project correctly and define their life and dissertation plan accordingly. ?
