Content

With increasing digitalization, industrial companies and cross-company value creation systems are changing fundamentally. The course aims to create an understanding of the data-driven company on the one hand and the process of digital transformation on the other. The change from the traditional product-oriented to the data- and service-oriented company is presented and explained for different key dimensions. A tool for measuring the digital maturity of a given company is developed and applied in an accompanying case study. At the end of the course, students should be able to assess companies in the manufacturing industry in particular with regard to the degree of digitalization and develop strategies for the further transformation process. In addition to the company itself, the overarching and cross-company value creation system is at the forefront of the considerations.
