ESPAnet Germany
ESPAnet (The European Network for Social Policy Analysis) is a scientific network that promotes the exchange and cooperation of social policy researchers in Europe.
National offshoots of ESPAnet have developed in many European countries. ESPAnet Germany has also established itself as a regional network in Germany. ESPAnet Germany is supported by the interdisciplinary cooperation of the Sektion Sozialpolitik der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Soziologie (DGS) and the Arbeitskreises Wohlfahrtsstaatsforschung der Deutschen Vereinigung für Politikwissenschaft (DVPW). Current contact persons are Dr. Florian Blank (WSI Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaftliches Institut), Prof. Dr. Katja M?hring (University of Bamberg), Prof. Dr. Michaela Schulze (University of Applied Labour Studies) and Dr. Hannah Zagel (Berlin Social Science Center).
ESPAnet Germany follows the basic concerns of ESPAnet Europe and is committed to promoting the visibility of social policy research in Germany. One focus of our work is to support young researchers in developing their skills and knowledge in social policy analysis through regular events for doctoral students. The focus is on German social policy in a comparative European and global perspective as well as international and supranational social policy in its significance for social policy in Germany.
