Interdisciplinary and International
The Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences (SoWi) is the second largest faculty at the University of Bamberg with more than 4,000 students. The faculty is characterised by interdisciplinary teaching and research with a clear profile in the field of empirical and practice-oriented economic and social research.
Special cooperations, such as with the Frauenhofer Gesellschaft, the Institute for Employment Research and the Federal Institute for Population Research, enable intensive national and regional networking in teaching and research. There are also successful international cooperations and exchanges with research institutes and universities all over the world - students benefit from this right from the beginning of their studies.
For success in studies and career
- The faculty has recognised interdisciplinary and international Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes, which are at the same time optimally oriented towards the labour market.
- The faculty offers excellent training for doctoral students at chairs and professorships and in graduate schools (e.g. BAGSS, BaGSB und BaGBeM).
- In research six focal points can be bundled, each of which is worked on by several disciplines and in different research institutions.
The programme is rounded off by cooperation with empirically oriented and applied research institutions in all subjects.
