Short bio
Stefanie Ulschmid is a research associate at the Chair of Information Systems and Platform Economy since July 2024. Previously, she studied Business Administration at the University of Regensburg (B.Sc., Value Chain Management) and at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg (M.Sc., Strategy, Organization and Organizational Behaviour). During this time, she gained valuable international practical and academic experience through stays abroad in France, Italy and the Netherlands. She also gained hands-on experience in consulting, for example in the cloud and digital sector at PwC Germany. After completing her bachelor's degree, she worked as a project purchaser at Zollner Elektronik AG, a leading European EMS service provider.
In her research she investigates the implications of digital platform usage for society and the economy. This includes, for example, the sustainable handling of digital data throughout its entire lifecycle, as well as responsible data-driven action in human-machine-collectives. Methodologically, she combines qualitative approaches with computational research techniques.
As part of university teaching, she currently supports the Master's seminar and the modules Managing Digital Platforms (Master) and Digital Business (Bachelor). She also supervises students' seminar papers and theses.
