Qualification goals of the bachelor's minor in Applied Computer Science (45 ECTS)
Upon completion of the minor subject study programme, students will have achieved the following qualification goals.
Scientific qualification and qualification for employment:
Graduates
- are able to understand methods and procedures of applied computer science, such as the design of application-related algorithms, by attending subject-specific modules.
- have the ability to evaluate exemplary methods through their implementation and analysis.
- are able to understand, apply and analyse components and processes of applied computer science by attending subject-specific modules.
- have a sound knowledge of the fundamentals of computer science and are able to apply these in a context-related manner.
Personal development:
Graduates
- have dealt with basic methods and processes of computer science and applied computer science and applied them in group work. In doing so, they take into account the views of others and respond to them.
- have developed a professional self-image (e.g. in combination with the respective main subject) and know alternative designs.
- have been sensitised to interdisciplinary issues through the change of perspective between major and minor subject as well as the study of basic informatics modules and are able to communicate these.
- are able to assess their own abilities with regard to aspects such as analysis, system development or communication and have ideas for their further development. They can acquire new specialised knowledge.
- have made decisions, set priorities and distributed tasks in several exercises.
- reflect on the social, cultural and political significance of applied computer science.
- have become acquainted with the social background of applied computer science.
- are able to shape social processes critically, reflectively and with a sense of responsibility and democratic public spirit.
