University Pompeu Fabra Barcelona
The University Pompeu Fabra (UPF) is a public, international and research-oriented university. Founded in 1990, it is also a very young and modern university. UPF covers three core areas:
- Social sciences and humanities
- Health and life sciences
- Communication and information technologies
Sociology at UPF is part of the Social and Political Sciences Department. It pursues a multidisciplinary perspective incorporating demographic analysis, labour relations studies and sociological analysis with a clear emphasis on studies of a quantitative nature and comparative research in the European field.
The core research areas cover: social and economic inequality, family sociology, studies on the labor market and working life as well as the assessment of social policies.
