Theses at the Chair

The staff of the Chair of Sociological Theory supervise theses on the following areas of sociology:

  • Sociological theory
  • Cultural sociology
  • Organizational sociology
  • Economic sociology
  • Political sociology
  • Sociology of religion

If you would like to write your thesis in one of these areas, please contact us as early as possible - 2 to 3 months before you actually start writing your thesis. Arrange a consultation appointment to which you can bring your initial thoughts on your thesis.

You are obliged to attend the accompanying thesis colloquium. This weekly event is part of the examination process. Students present their theses there and then discuss them. The date of the event can be found in UnivIS.

Due to the substitution of the chair, only theses that can be completed by the end of the winter semester 2025/26 can be accepted.
